Waterfall and V life cycles assume that one stage is complete before the next starts. Completion is justified by a verification processes. The Waterfall and V are good for management cost control and progress reporting but extend project duration when it is difficult to identify requirements. It also does not facilitate the reuse of existing code elements. Waterfall and V life cycles work best when the supplier has already produced similar products for other customers.
